BigMarker is making it easier than ever to notify your attendees of what’s on the docket for the day’s events
Automated virtual and in-app mobile notifications allows you to schedule push notifications for your attendees for any number of reminders. Previously, an event admin would have to manually push notifications from the platform back-end at the exact time the information needed to be shared with the attendees. Now, BigMarker has created a more efficient process, allowing event admins to pre-schedule notifications for both browser-based virtual events, and on mobile devices in the BigMarker app.
Whether you want to notify your attendees check-in has opened in Ballroom A via the mobile app, or remind them that speed networking opens in five minutes while they’re virtually perusing the expo hall, let automated notifications do the legwork.
The steps for automating notifications are below. You’ll note that while you can specify exactly where you’d like your pre-scheduled notifications to appear on the platform, mobile notifications will appear globally in-app.
To pre-schedule notifications to appear on desktop, follow these steps:
1. Log in to your BigMarker channel and select your series
2. From there, click manage event
3. In the left-hand menu bar, you’ll select Notifications under Event Setup. From here, you’ll be able to manage both your manual notifications and your pre-scheduled notifications. To create a new notification, select New Notification at the top right.
4. On this screen, you’ll be able to input all the notification content: sub-title, title, CTA text and link. You’ll also be able to choose where you’d like this notification to display when scheduling for desktop.
5. Once you’ve input all your notification information, you can choose whether you’d like this notification to push manually or automatically. To pre-schedule, simply select Scheduled, and input your desired push date and time. Then, Save & Exit to confirm.
To pre-schedule notifications to appear on the mobile app, follow these steps:
1. Log in to your BigMarker channel and select your series
2. From there, click manage event
3. In the left-hand menu bar, you’ll select Mobile App under Event Setup. From here, you’ll be able to manage both your manual notifications and your pre-scheduled notifications. To create a new notification, select New Notification at the top right.
4. Similar to the desktop experience, you’ll be able to input all the notification content: sub-title, title, CTA text and link. However, unlike desktop notifications, you are unable to choose where this notification displays when scheduling for mobile. It will appear as an app notification or, if you’re in the app at the time of the notification, it will be added to the in-app notifications beneath the bell icon.
5. Once you’ve input all your notification information, you can choose whether you’d like this notification to push manually or automatically. To pre-schedule, simply select Scheduled, and input your desired push date and time. Then, Save & Exit to confirm.
