Use Gamification to Encourage attendees to immerse themselves in your event

Have your attendees earn points, unlock prizes and compete against each other while engaging fully with your event

Instill some healthy competition at your event with Gamification, an exciting engagement feature that can be added-on to your Hybrid and onsite events. Allow your attendees to earn points both physically and virtually through attending sessions, networking and connecting with other attendees, viewing handouts, answering polls, participating in chats and more. Anything at your event is fair game for attendees to earn points. 

All points earned will be reflected on the leaderboard for attendees to view their own points and see who is in the lead. 

How it works: 

With Gamification, you will set rules for your attendees to follow in order to earn points. For each rule, you determine which action an attendee needs to do in order to earn a specific amount of points. Here are some examples of what criteria you can set for those rules: 


Check-in:

  • Complete Check-In virtually in browser / through event  app / or in person
  • Add a photo during check-in
  • Participate in matchmaking

Sessions:

  • Attend a session virtually via the event app or browser
  • Attend in-person session (you must be scanned into a session through the Badge Scanner app)
  • Favorite a session
  • Participate in a chat
  • Submit a Q&A
  • Upvote a Q&A 

Booths:

  • Attend a booth virtually via the event app or browser
  • Attend in-person booth (you must be scanned into a session through the Badge Scanner app)
  • Participate in a chat
  • Submit a Q&A
  • Upvote a Q&A
  • Download a Handout

Home Page:

  • Click any custom widget to get points (unique to the Event App) 

Overall: 

  • Scan QR code 

You can set up these rules on your event’s backend . Once you are in the event admin, click on Networking Center in the lefthand navigation menu. A drop-down will appear. Select Gamification. In the Gamification screen, select New Rule. From there, use the dropdown menu to select the rule type. This will set how your attendees are able to earn points.

Choosing which activities earn points, or setting all activities are able to earn points, will increase engagement and encourage participation at your event. 

For any rule, you can give it a name, determine how many points are earned, and set if users can only earn points for his rule once or multiple times. You will also want to choose which series (module) the rule applies to. For example, you can have a rule where users get points for visiting expo booths. In this case, you would use the rule Attend a session in a series then set the Expo Hall in the setting for Apply to series

How to Enter Points: 

Event Hosts manually award and deduct points when attendees complete their event or activity. They can do this by scanning the attendee’s QR code when they’ve completed an activity that earns points. Event hosts will be able to manage attendee’s points on the Badge Scanner App, where they can view a history of all the activities completed and award/deduct points. 

 

These points will reflect on the Leaderboard in the Companion App or in the Networking Center on their desktop.  On the Leaderboard, attendees will see their total points and their current balance of points. 

On the backend of your event, you can view a  history of every attendee’s points. Analytics captured are: 

  • First and last name 
  • Email Address
  • Rule Type 
  • Points that have been awarded and deducted 
  • Who awarded and deducted the attendee’s points 
  • Notes attached to the points 
  • Time and date points where earned/deducted 
  • Total and current points
