Sharing Your Event or Webinar Through Social Media

Share your Event or Webinar through Social Media and configure the metadata that is shared alongside it

Using the classic admin? Click here to learn where you can find the share link settings.

BigMarker offers multiple ways to share and invite people to your webinar and channel. One of the simplest methods is copying the URL of your webinar page or channel's About page and sharing it via email, social media, or a blog post.

To find the share link in the Session Admin, go to the Dashboard of any session and click on Share Link in the Session actions section.

Customize how your link is view when shared

When you share your content on social media and elsewhere, you won't just see the link itself. You'll sometimes see an image, the title of your webinar or series, and a description. This information is known as metadata and different platforms will use different metadata.

To update the SEO and OG metadata for your session, go to Marketing > SEO & Social. You can also insert your tracking codes to your different pages in this section as well.

Within these settings, you'll find a few categories:

  • SEO Metadata - Title, description and keywords used and shown by search engines
  • Facebook metadata - Open Graph (OG) image, title and description can be set here. You can also add code for a Facebook pixel here if you are promoting this content on Facebook
  • Twitter/X Metadata - Image, title and description used in Twitter/X cards

Once you save these settings may take a few minutes or longer to take effect. Before you share, you can test how these links look when shared by using the following link: https://www.opengraph.xyz/

Open Graph is a protocol introduced by Facebook in 2010 that allows websites to add this metadata for better sharing and discoverability. Most major sites will use this protocol, so updating the Facebook portion should also update sharing settings for pages like LinkedIn and services like Discord or Slack.
