Domain Whitelabel FAQ

Learn everything you need to know about customizing your BigMarker domain

Whitelabeling your channel and content on BigMarker allows you to change the domain of all of your landing pages on BigMarker and have even further control over how your content is presented.

Read the following FAQ to get more information on what is available to you when you whitelabel and what to look out for when you go through the process.

Note: Whitelabel domains are included in all enterprise accounts or can be an additional purchase as part of your billing plan. Contact your customer success manager for more information.

What is whitelabeling?

Whitelabeling is a process that allows you to use your own domain to use for all pages from BigMarker. Instead of bigmarker.com you will instead have something like your-subdomain.your-domain.com

Whitelabeling will affect all the content on a single channel. A whitelabel domain can only be applied to one channel.

You can also whitelabel your emails, so they are sent from a domain you control as opposed to bigmarker.com

What do I need to whitelabel my channel?

You will need first need your own domain, then pick a subdomain that will point to your BigMarker channel. From there you will need to go through a number of technical steps to configure your whitelabel domain. Contact your customer success manager for more details on this process

What does whitelabeling change on my channel?

Any links that are automatically generated by BigMarker will use your whitelabeled domain. These include but are not limited to:

  • Share links
  • Webinar link tokens used in emails
  • Presenter links

I already have a channel but I want to change to a whitelabel domain, what happens to my content?

When you whitelabel, all content that is on the channel will still exist and nothing about their settings will change. Importantly, all of your content will still work when using bigmarker.com in the URL, so if you have any old links being distributed those will still work.

Regarding your old content, it is important to go through any sessions , on-demand content, or anything else and update the content accordingly to use the whitelabel URL wherever applicable.

Can I be logged in to both bigmarker.com and my custom domain? Can I be an admin using the whitelabel domain?

While all of the content and settings will be identical between bigmarker.com and your custom domain, they will act as different services you need to log in to. If you are logged in to you admin account on bigmarker.com you will not be logged in to your admin account for your custom domain. However, you can login to your custom domain as an admin on BigMarker if you so choose by going to:

subdomain.your-domain.com/login

Registrants across the two domains

Just as admins are not automatically logged in to the whitelabel domain if they are logged in to BigMarker, attendees and registrants will have the same behavior. If someone registers for a webinar that uses bigmarker.com and then goes to a webinar using the whitelabel domain, BigMarker will no longer recognize the user, even if they are on the same channel.

Because of this, it is very important to keep people one one domain, most likely your whitelabel domain. Be sure to use the whitelabel domain when configuring redirect URLs, Exit URLs, and navigation links.

What else can I customize when i use a whitelabel domain

There are a few things that you are able to customize when you whitelabel a domain. Here as some of those options:

  • Upload a custom favicon that will appear on all pages
  • Set a browser tab name for all live webinar rooms
  • Use a custom document for your presenter guide that’s available in the presenter link
  • Set a specific landing page that users are redirected to when they visit subdomain.your-domain.com
