A black screen can appear if a user’s camera is broken, blocked, or installed incorrectly. To start, try the below basic troubleshooting tips:
- Test your camera with another camera application like Skype, Google Meet, or the Photo Booth app on a MacBook or Mac
- Restart your browser
- Refresh the page
- Ensure you've selected the correct device when allowing the camera to connect
- If you have a camera cover over your camera, ensure that it is set in the open position
- Check your connection speed -- a slow connection speed may be preventing you from connecting and preventing your camera from loading properly. We recommend you try a speed test.
