Adding a Cookie Consent Bar to your webinars and series

Remain compliant with local and federal guidelines for data privacy while also giving attendees more control over what information they disclose to your brand with a cookie consent bar.

The Cookie Consent Bar alerts attendees that you will be collecting their information for marketing and other purposes, so they can have the option to accept or decline. Once accepted, you can apply tracking codes and scripts to those users on your landing pages, and not on those that decline. This ensures that you remain compliant with local and federal guidelines for data privacy while also giving attendees more control over what information they disclose to your brand.

On BigMarker, you can customize the design of the bar as well as the code that is enabled when users accept. Learn how to create cookie consent bars on BigMarker below.

The settings here are for individual landing pages. For information on how to customize these settings for your entire event, click here.

How to Enable the Cookie Consent Bar

In the webinar dashboard select Cookie Consent Bar from the left-hand menu.

Under Cookie Bar Settings, check the Enable Cookie Consent Bar on Landing Page box. You then can where the cookie bar will be shown, and all of the design settings. This includes the: colors, text, links and most importantly the Allowed Tracking Code.

The tracking code is the script that is enabled once a user agrees. This could be something like a Google Analytics tracking codes or Facebook pixels, helping you track how individuals engage with your data and allowing you to build customer profiles from this information.

Once customized, your cookie consent bar will populate at the bottom of the screen when your attendees are logging on to your event.
