Increase Stability and Speed for Presenters and attendees in the surrounding areas by selecting a server closest to your audience.
We’ve added an exciting addition to our server locations: BigMarker users can now use our Africa (Cape Town) server to host their events. This is meant to increase stability and speed for presenters and attendees in the surrounding areas.
You can choose your server location in two ways: through Global Channel Settings or through the Advanced Settings of your webinar. In this article, learn how to change your server.
Note: We strongly recommend changing your server location BEFORE any impacted event starts, as switching server locations mid-event can cause disruptions for attendees and presenters.
How to Set a Server Location in your Global Channel Settings
We recommend this method for accounts that conduct a majority of events with presenters or attendees located in or around Africa (Cape Town.)
1. Click on your icon in the top right corner and select Settings.
2. Click Global Profile.
3. Scroll down to the bottom, and select the Server Location using the Server Location dropdown menu.
4. Click Save.
Note: This change applies only to webinars that are created AFTER the server location has been changed. Any webinars created before the server location is changed will not reflect the new server location.
How to Set a Server Location in the Advanced Settings of your Webinar
We recommend this method for individual events that have an expected attendance of a majority of presenters or attendees located in or around Africa (Cape Town).
1. Log in to your webinar and select the Edit tab.
2. Click on Advanced Settings.
3. Scroll down to Location and select a Server Location from the dropdown menu
4. Click Save Changes
