Enable Multi-Factor Authentication for your channel

Provide an additional layer of security to keep access to your content and data in safe hands.

By default, a BigMarker account can be accessed just by using an email and password. While this can be enough to avoid most security lapses, channel admins can enable a further level of security using MFA.

Note: BigMarker MFA requires the use of an authenticator. You can download an authenticator for free from Google, Microsoft, or use a browser extension to use on desktop.

Admins on the channel who have access to the channel settings can enable this feature. When looking at the channel home page, navigate to the channel settings page and look for the Privacy & Visibility section.

In this section, look for the setting "Two-factor authentication login" and enable & save it.

When this is enabled, an admin on this channel will have a new experience when logging in to BigMarker. First, they will be greeted with this screen, alerting the user that MFA is required:

After clicking continue they will see the next screen prompting them to scan a QR code. Using an authenticator app or browser extension, scanning this QR code will add BigMarker to their authenticator.

Once BigMarker has been added to the authenticator, a 6-digit code will be available to copy and paste into BigMarker during login. This code will refresh in your authenticator periodically, meaning you will use a new code every time you log in.
