Provide an additional layer of security to keep access to your content and data in safe hands.
By default, a BigMarker account can be accessed just by using an email and password. While this can be enough to avoid most security lapses, channel admins can apply an additional level of security using Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
BigMarker’s Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) requires the use of an authenticator app. You can download one for free, such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator, or use a compatible browser extension on your desktop.
To enable MFA you will need to reach out to support@bigmarker.com or to your Project Manager. Once enabled all channel admins will log-in using MFA.
When someone logs in for the first time after enabling, they will be greeted with the screen below, alerting the user that MFA is required:
After clicking continue they will see the next screen prompting them to scan a QR code. By scanning this QR code with an authenticator app or browser extension, users can quickly add BigMarker to their list of verified accounts.
Once BigMarker has been added to the authenticator, a 6-digit code will be available to copy and paste into BigMarker during login. This code will refresh in your authenticator periodically, meaning you will use a new code every time you log in.
