Boost Engagement with Automated SMS Notifications

Streamline attendee engagement by sending personalized SMS reminders and notifications for seamless event participation.

Enhance event communication with SMS notifications, ensuring registrants stay informed about their registrations and upcoming live events. By integrating Twilio and customizing registration fields, you can seamlessly manage and schedule SMS reminders, providing a more engaging and reliable attendee experience.

This feature is only available if you are an Enterprise customer, and if you already have an existing Twilio account to connect to the channel.

Here's how it works:

  • Channel-Level Setup: Clients can integrate their own Twilio account to enable SMS messaging.
  • Webinar-Level Configuration: Clients will add a custom registration field to collect phone numbers.
  • Message Management: Clients can create, schedule, and manage individual SMS messages to ensure timely notifications for their audience.

First, navigate to your Channel Settings. You’ll find SMS Settings on the lefthand navigation menu at the bottom of the list. From here, you’ll enter your Twilio account information, starting with your Twilio account SID, a token, and a Twilio account phone number.

To set up your SMS notifications, navigate to the Custom Registration Fields in your Manage Webinar dashboard. From here, you’ll need to add a custom registration field to act as the phone number field for your SMS reminders.

Once the registration field is added to your webinar or series, you’ll be able to add a new SMS message within the SMS Notifications section of the webinar dashboard.

When adding a new message you’ll have a few fields to fill out. The title is what is shown in the list of messages, and the message will be the content of what is sent out to your audience. You’ll be able to use a small set of tokens in order to personalize each message to each recipient.

For instances where you have a lot of mobile attendees to webinars, this is a great way to encourage participation.

Additionally, you can decide who receives the message, and when the message will be sent. You can select a relative time or a specific date. You have the option to send a message immediately after a registration in the same vein as a registration confirmation. Or you can choose to send an SMS message as a reminder notification.
