What does registration source mean?

Understand where your registrants are coming from with registration source

"Registration Source" is a field found in BigMarker for every registrant. This field is automatically added by BigMarker for every registrant and gives some quick information on how that user registered and where they came from. You will see this information either in the manage registrations section of the webinar dashboard, but also in all of your reporting and registration lists.

In this field you will find a number of possible responses:

Registration Modal

One of the more common options that you will see is Registration Modal. This is when the user registers for the webinar using the registration form immediately after getting to the webinar landing page.

Added by presenter

Admin/hosts and presenters with admin rights are in the position to manually add registrants via the Manage Webinar > Manage Webinar Registrants section.

Series registration

If you have set up a series and the registration passed from the series to the webinar, at the webinar level you will have a value of "series registration." Additionally, you can look at the details for any registrant with this value and see a link to the series in the Registration From field:

Bigmarker.com

If the registrant navigated through different pages and returned to the event landing page, you will see "Bigmarker.com" as the value here.

If you whitelabel your channel domain, you will see that custom domain here for registrants that signed up using that whitelabel domain

Registration widget

If you have used a widget to embed the registration on another page, you'll see "register widget."

Different domain

You may find other domains in registration source, this usually means they found the registration page through another website. For example, users who find the registration page through a google search may have "google.com" as the value here.

match_registration_field

If you use a registration field to register someone for an additional session, you'll see the value "match_registration_field" in this field.

public_api

If you have registered someone using BigMarker's API, you will see this value here.

auto_enter

If you have configured your webinar in such a way that you are using auto enter and registration checks, then users may become registered for this session as soon as they enter the webinar room. In this case, you will see the "auto_enter" value here.

Invitation Email

If users click a link in their invitation email in order to register, then you will see this value here.

one_click

If you have enabled one-click registration, users who register this way will have this value.

utm_bmcr_source

If you add a specific UTM code (utm_bmcr_source) then the value used for registration will appear here for each registrant.

Integrations

If you are using an Integration to import registrants, the name of the service being integrated with will be the value for registration source.

Blank

When this field is blank, it usually means there is a privacy or security setting or issue that is preventing BigMarker from collecting that information. The users browser, network, or device is blocking that information from being shared. Unfortunately, there is no way to recover this data.
