Use Segments to communicate and interact with specific attendees

Organize your registrants by their registration field values, allowing you to deliver targeted offers, polls, and handouts specifically to each group.

If your virtual session is likely to attract a diverse audience, you'll want to prepare tailored materials for different participants and establish distinct workflows for collecting leads. With Segments, you're able to group your registrants together, and then use those segments to determine the experience each group receives.

Creating and Managing your Segments

Before you create segments, you'll need to have custom registration fields added to your session. These fields should have values for each of your registrants so they can be included in the segment.

Visit the webinar dashboard of your session, then visit Segments which you'll see in the left-hand navigation. In this page you'll be able to create and manage your segments.

Click on New segment and you'll see a new set of settings to name and configure your segment. In the include Registrants when... field, you'll choose the registration field with which the segment will filter. Then in the Equals any of these values: you'll be able to type or paste in the values that will determine which registrants will be included in the segment. add as many values as you would like by clicking on Add another value.

In the example above, we want to create a segment for all registrants with a C-Suite title. So we use our title registration field and put in all the values we want to include in the segment. Click Save and you segment is complete. Click on the 3-dot menu to edit or delete any segment.

Using your segments

Once you have your segments, you can start pre-loading content tailored to them. You can do this with polls, offers and handouts.

In all of these, the setting will be the same. For example, when creating or editing a poll, you will see a new option: Only show to specific Segments of attendees. Enable this to see another setting to choose which segment will see this poll.

Here's examples of how that looks for offers and handouts:
