[Click here](https://kb.bigmarker.com/knowledge/send-chat-from-your-webinar-to-slack#session_admin) to learn where you can find the integration for Slack. This feature allows you to specify one of your Slack channels to receive and send messages and answers for your attendees in a live webinar room. You may have specific staff members designated to answer your Q&A, and now they can receive Slack notifications for when a new question comes in. Or perhaps you have an evergreen webinar and you are not sure when attendees may be watching. Using the integration for Slack will make sure you never miss a message. While using this service you must comply with BigMarker's **[Privacy Policy](https://get.bigmarker.com/legal/privacy-policy)** ### Configuring BigMarker settings To first set up the Slack notifications, you’ll need to create a live, automated or evergreen webinar. Once you do go to **Engagement \> Admin Notifications** and look for the **Slack** tab. Afterwards you'll allow the BigMarker Webinar Responder to your workspace. ![](https://kb.bigmarker.com/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-May-14-2026-06-05-22-2383-PM.png?width=450&height=193&name=image-png-May-14-2026-06-05-22-2383-PM.png) ![](https://kb.bigmarker.com/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-May-14-2026-06-06-26-7927-PM.png?width=600&height=423&name=image-png-May-14-2026-06-06-26-7927-PM.png) Once your Slack account is connected and the app is connected, you'll return to BigMarker to choose which channel will be used. First you must choose which Slack Channel will receive incoming messages and questions. The dropdown list will show all **public channels** that are associated with the team your account is affiliated with on Slack. ![](https://kb.bigmarker.com/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-May-14-2026-06-07-43-6073-PM.png?width=450&height=394&name=image-png-May-14-2026-06-07-43-6073-PM.png) **Note**: You also need to make sure the BigMarker Responder App is added to the channel you plan to use. Once saved you'll see a setting for **Force Reply by Thread**. When this setting is on, you can only send new messages from Slack to BigMarker by replying to a thread. If this setting is off, the webinar will receive chat messages that are sent in the general chat of the selected Slack Channel. **Note:** If you have multiple live webinars happening at the same time that use the Slack notifications, all webinars will receive these general chat messages at once if **Force Reply by Thread** is turned **off**. ### Adding BigMarker to your Slack Channel With BigMarker configured, you'll need to give the **BigMarker Webinar Responder** access to your Slack channel.  In the Slack Channel you specified in the above settings, type "/invite" and in the options that appear, click on **Add apps to this channel.** ![](https://kb.bigmarker.com/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Apr-15-2025-07-49-47-9849-PM.png?width=529&height=284&name=image-png-Apr-15-2025-07-49-47-9849-PM.png) You should see the **BigMarker Webinar Responder** as an option. Any chat messages sent in the public chat will also be sent to the selected Slack Channel. The message in Slack will contain a few elements: - A webinar ID which is hyperlinked to the dashboard of the webinar the chat came from - Name and email address of the user who sent the message - The content of the message ![](https://lh7-us.googleusercontent.com/tSlGP11z4GE2KKYj33ayorbl5d2D9JmSZhCxQtR0BWtI3uYDTcGD2JkC0KOJCO9F1s_ZEeAcoLOw64Y9Yd6ogitIg_AFaUu9JDD4z_rLGnipvAjyiUCpEF0o9sq6X1Rp2kbU9ltdbsJqjwW54e7gn3A) You can reply directly to this message in Slack to ensure that the message will only be sent to the specific webinar’s chat. When a user submits a question, the question in Slack will look very similar to the chat message above. The main difference is that **it is required to reply within a thread** to a question. Replying in the thread will send that message to BigMarker as a reply within the answer thread of the question posted. If a question wasn’t already marked as answered, sending a reply in Slack will mark it as such.
