When you have hundreds of attendees in a live presentation, identifying the people who want to participate can be a challenge. If you want to invite a volunteer to join by microphone and camera, relying on a fast-moving chat isn’t always practical. Hand Raising makes it easy to quickly spot and engage interested participants.
Enabling Hand Raising
Before your session starts, you can find the feature in Engagement > Interactive Tools .within the Session Admin. You won't be able to access this setting inside of the Studio, but you can change this after the session initializes and begins.
Raising your hand
With the feature enabled, all attendees will be able to see a button to raise their hand. Depending on the audience room layout and session type that you choose, this button will appear in a specific spot.
In the classic webcast audience experience, users will see the button in the bottom right portion of the page, just to the left of the engagement panel.
When using modular webcast, the hand raise icon will appear on the far right side alongside the other icons for showing/hiding individual modules.
When using interactive sessions, the icon will appear in the center alongside any content options that the attendees might have. If you have no content options available to your attendees, it will appear in the same spot that it does for the webcast session.
Managing those that raise their hand
Once an attendee raises their hand, you'll be able to see it in the host control panel. Within the attendee list, you'll see a notification for how may hands are raised and which attendees raised their hand. You can clear this away by clicking on the x in the notification to clear away all raised hands, or clicking on the individual hands in the attendee list.
Additionally, any user that raises their hand will appear at the top of your attendee list. So no matter how many people are viewing your live session, you'll be able to easily find anyone who raises their hand.
